While reducing bodily fluids and enhancing cosmetic appearance are important aspects of the embalming process, they are secondary to the main goal of delaying decomposition. Similarly, preparing for transportation is an important consideration in embalming, but it relates more to the logistics of handling the body rather than the primary biological and chemical interactions taking place during cavity embalming.
